Gagik Tsarukyan meets with Armenian President

Leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan met with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday.

The sides spoke of boxer Samson Khachatryan, Khachik Galstyan, spokesperson for Tsarukyan, toldArmenian News-NEWS.am. “Mr. Tsarukyan said he will appeal to the President on the issue. President Sargsyan stressed he has deep respect for sportsmen who made considerable contribution to the Armenian sport,” Galstyan said without disclosing details of the meeting.

Activist of the opposition Armenian National Congress, European boxing champion Samson Khachatryan was arrested on March 13. He was charged with using force against policeman. The ANC and Samson Khachatryan himself consider persecution is politically motivated.
