Some people present my hunger strike as Christian ceremony, Hovannisian says
People, Daily news | ankakh | March 22, 2011 18:37Those who claim that Raffi Hovannisian is fasting rather than holding a civil hunger strike are probably unaware of the decision made at the March 13 enlarged meeting of the Heritage party which clearly indicates civil demands, he says.
Talking to the journalists today Raffi Hovannisian responded toLevon Ter-Petrosyan’s remarks about his hunger strike published in one of the Armenian newspapers.
“It seems some people have not read my speech issued at the meeting of Heritage Party on March 15,” he said adding that this speech was basis for “liberty fasting”.
“On March 15 I entered Liberty Square as a proud citizen of Armenia to realize my civil, constitutional right, but not a Christian ceremony, or the Great Fast,” said Hovannisian.
“Those who want to turn my presence here into a Christian fast have not studied my serious position, but in any case, I treat lies and falsifications that have emerged in today’s article as a Christian, and, moreover, wish the first president God’s blessing and long life,” he stressed.
