President Sargsyan invited a meeting on the priorities of the economic policy

President Serzh Sargsyan invited today a meeting on the priorities of the economic policy.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Tigran Sarkissian, Head of the Presidential Administration Karen Karapetian, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorkian, Head of the Central Bank Arthur Javadian, Ministers of Economy, Finance, Agriculture, Energy and Natural Resources, Urban Development, Labor and Social Issues, Chief Adviser of the President and Head of the Presidential Oversight Service, Head of the State Revenue Committee, Chairman of the State Commission on the Protection of Economic Competition.

At the onset, the President of Armenia underscored that the objective of the meeting was to define priorities under the existing conditions – necessitated by the external negative implications – and together, based on the outcome of the meeting to introduce some adjustments to the mutually agreed goals. The President presented his observations regarding steps implemented in the main economic areas and gave instructions.

Serzh Sargsyan stressed that no excuses would be accepted for the deferment or unjustified procrastination of any program, “If a major, significant program has been messed up, it will not go without consequence; those responsible for failure can bring dozen of excuses, but we don’t need excuses,” said the President of Armenia.
